Beginner-Friendly Sourdough Bread Recipe

This is a simple, no-knead sourdough bread recipe using your starter.


Ingredients

🔹 500g (about 4 cups) bread flour (or all-purpose)

🔹 100g (about ½ cup) active starter (bubbly & recently fed)

🔹 10g (2 tsp) salt

🔹 350g (about 1 ½ cups) warm water


Instructions

1️⃣ Mix the Dough (Night Before)

  1. In a large bowl, mix starter, water, and flour until combined.
  2. Let it sit for 30 minutes (this helps hydrate the flour).
  3. Add salt, mix well, then cover and let it rest at room temp overnight (8-12 hours).

2️⃣ Shape the Dough (Morning)

  1. Lightly flour a surface and gently shape the dough into a ball.
  2. Place it in a bowl lined with a floured kitchen towel (or a proofing basket).
  3. Let it rise for 1-2 hours until slightly puffy.
