Beginner-Friendly Sourdough Bread Recipe
This is a simple, no-knead sourdough bread recipe using your starter.
Ingredients
🔹 500g (about 4 cups) bread flour (or all-purpose)
🔹 100g (about ½ cup) active starter (bubbly & recently fed)
🔹 10g (2 tsp) salt
🔹 350g (about 1 ½ cups) warm water
Instructions
1️⃣ Mix the Dough (Night Before)
- In a large bowl, mix starter, water, and flour until combined.
- Let it sit for 30 minutes (this helps hydrate the flour).
- Add salt, mix well, then cover and let it rest at room temp overnight (8-12 hours).
- It should double in size and be full of bubbles.
2️⃣ Shape the Dough (Morning)
- Lightly flour a surface and gently shape the dough into a ball.
- Place it in a bowl lined with a floured kitchen towel (or a proofing basket).
- Let it rise for 1-2 hours until slightly puffy.
